Tommy began his insurance career more than 35 years ago and has been a W&A partner for over 10 years. He says, “It’s a great thing to come to work doing something I love with a great group of people.” He and his wife, Debi, have three children: Brian, Brandon and Beth. They share five fantastic grandchildren: Sarah Jane, Reese, Caleb, Ann Taylor and Rebekah Ann. Tommy enjoys playing golf, ballroom dancing and traveling with Debi. He has been blessed to call Paris home for all his life and plans to keep it that way!

None, I only do the grilling and I never mess that up. My wife does the cooking and she never fails.

The Exorcist way back in the 70’s. I stopped going to scary movies after that.
How did you meet your wife?
At the Little League baseball park on May 7, 1965. Her brother was on my team and my father was the coach.
You have a surprise day off, how are you spending it?
Taking my grandkids to Disney World!

Asked my prospective father-in-law if I could marry his daughter.

Jon joined the Wimberley Agency in 2015 and has rapidly grown into a knowledgeable Property, Casualty, Life and Health agent. Jon and his wife, Savanna, met in high school and sparks flew when they were both sophomores at Bethel University. Kenitha joined the insurance industry almost 30 years ago. She enjoys the challenges, problem solving and the victories that come with working in insurance, as well as getting to know her customers and spending time with her co-workers. She and her husband, Ernie, have seven children between them, Marc, Adam, Amanda, Josh, Luke and Calen. They have seven grandchildren, Rian, Alaina, Kennedy, Aden, Daniella, Kendall and Brooklyn. Kenitha likes to read a good book. She loves spending time with her grandchildren and dogs, being with friends and family and her 1977 Red Corvette!

We bury people. My husband and I own a burial vault company. We work with different funeral homes and do the set-ups at the grave sites. If you come to my house you will see 20+ burial vaults sitting in my driveway.
Something good that happened today?
At my age, most people do not have their parents, but I still have my mom, Carnell, and that is a blessing to me everyday. She is my biggest fan.

Candy began her insurance career more than 20 years ago. Candy fell into the industry by chance and she says she quickly realized that it was a great way to make a good living while offering her the opportunity to help others. She and her husband, Jess, stay busy with their four children, Callon, Colson, Carter and Corrye Blaire. Candy loves spending time with her family, working in the yard, going to the beach, watching Carter play baseball and dressing up her little girl, Corrye. For the past 14 years, she and Jess have presided over the Paris Soccer Club, which had blessed them with the opportunity to work with many children in the Paris area.

Cayce Matterson joined W&A in the Paris Agency in December of 2023.  She has lived in Paris for 25 years and joins W&A after more than 15 years spent in higher education. Cayce is a licensed property & casualty agent and holds her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Ole Miss and Masters of Education from Belmont University.  Cayce and her daughter, Maddie, love to spend time together on the lake and enjoy any opportunity to skip down to the beach. She loves to read, paint, attend concerts and fly. She has even flown a C-185 to Mackinac Island!

Caleb Grissom joined W&A in December 2023 and is a licensed property & casualty agent. Caleb grew up in Paris and comes to W&A with ten years of customer service experience. He is a member of Rotary, Executive Director of the Paris/Henry Co. Arts Council and a board member of the Paris/Henry County Heritage Center. He is also a member of 1^st Christian Church, his church Historian, and serves as the substitute pianist. Although insurance runs deep in the Cary family (Alan’s younger brother, John, works for BlueCross BlueShield and his father had a lifelong career in insurance), after graduation from Freed-Hardeman University, Alan spent some time in radio and television! In 1989, he made the decision to follow in his father’s footsteps and began his insurance career working for BlueCross BlueShield. Alan moved back to West Tennessee in 2000 to join his dad at Cary Insurance. Alan is an active member of his church and the community, serving in the Martin Rotary Club and the Martin Business Association. Alan and his wife, Kim, have two children, Addison and Anderson. If you want to know something about the cultural icon, Prince, Alan is your go-to guy!

Vickie Hazlewood’s career in insurance began in 2008 when Alan Cary was introduced to her at a local doctor’s office. Since then, she and Alan have made a fantastic team and her knowledge, service skills and friendly voice have guided many clients to better days! Despite many arguments, she does not work at a pharmacy, but her identical twin, Becky, does. 🙂 Vickie is a lifelong resident of Martin and she is an avid volunteer. Vickie is a member of the Martin Kiwanis Club, where she currently serves as the President, and she also enjoys her work with the Special Olympics. Vickie and her husband, Madison, have one daughter. If you see a little red-headed pitcher slinging strikes on the softball field, you can rest assured Braedyn’s momma is near!

John and his wife, Cathy, were married 20 years ago and have two children, Harrison and Ashlee. John and Cathy celebrated the birth of their first grandbaby, Ellis O’Neal, in 2017. Troy joined White & Associates in 2007 and is a licensed Property & Casualty and Life & Health agent. Troy and his wife, Amy, have two sons, Carter and Conner. They spend a lot of time as a family on the road competing in Junior Livestock competitions. The Arnolds’ sheep and hogs are tough to beat! They most recently won Supreme Champion at the Delta Fair and Music Festival in Memphis, Tennessee. Troy also enjoys being actively involved in his church, Second Baptist, and serves as a Deacon.

Laura was the very first employee to join White & Associates in 1978. To say that Laura and W&A have had a good run would be a big understatement! We would not be the same without her. Laura and her husband, Daryl, have two married children and five precious grandchildren. Laura loves to read, enjoys the beach and makes her very best effort to visit the Orpheum Theatre in Memphis at least twice a year.

I surprised my entire family when I sang, "In My Daughter's Eyes," at my granddaughter's christening. I have sung at church many times but never something so personal. My mother was able to be at church that day. It is one of my most cherished memories.

With Dad's help, we tore down the house where my Mom was born and raised to build our current home. It is just around the corner from my childhood home.

Amy joined White & Associates in 2000. Amy and her husband, Tim, married in 2015 and she has two children, Tanner and Trevor. Their family is having fun restoring their new home. Amy loves yard sales and is always up early on Saturday mornings, and sometimes even before work on Fridays, to hunt for a great bargain. Kick Hickman joined W&A in 2024 and serves as our sales manager for our Advanced Planning and Financial Services Department.  Kirk joins W&A with three years of experience in the Life, Annuities and Retirement Planning field and over 15 years spent in the sales industry. Kirk and his wife, Megan, have two daughters – Avery (15) and Addy (12). They also have two pups – Finn and Maggie.  He is a 2002 graduate of Dyersburg High School and attended the University of Tennessee at Martin. Kirk enjoys playing the guitar and cheering on the Vols and the Cubs. Kirk is also a twin!

While working as an interior designer, I helped design and install actor Steven Seagal's Memphis home.
What is your favorite memory from high school?
Going cow-tipping...joke was on us though. We went up to a cow, heard a strange sucking noise and then the cow charged at us. The cow had a calf and was, naturally, very scared when we approached.
What movie can you watch over and over?
Mamma Mia! My husband hates it because it is a musical, but that's part of the reason I love it!
Something you refuse to eat?
Seafood is a "no way" for me. I can barely stand the smell of the seafood department at the grocery store. If it doesn't cluck, moo or oink, then I don't want it.
Something good that happened today?
I was able to say goodbye to my husband and furbaby this morning when I left for work. Davey is usually up and gone before I ever roll out of bed.
